Metal Gear Solid Delta visual filter available on new and classic control scheme

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater looks to remain faithful to the source material with the ability to toggle modern and classic control schemes and a screen filter to keep things just that much more faithful. Turns out, if you want that filter while playing the modern scheme, you can.

As confirmed by Eurogamer, the filter will be available on either control scheme, but that’s about the extent of the report, and more info is expected soon. During an episode of the Xbox Podcast, it was revealed the Metal Gear Solid Delta team is using Unreal Engine 5 for the graphical fidelity that it brings to the table. It has sparked controversy for altering the color palette, with one user showing the difference.

We’re pretty sure this is just a situation of modernizing the colors, but we can see how people will miss the charm of the original Snake Eater, and obviously that’s why the filter is an option. We’re still waiting on a release date, but if you need more, we can always look back at the gameplay trailer shared during the Xbox Games Showcase.
