New Banjo-Kazooie game is not in the works

Late into last year, it was reported that a new Banjo-Kazooie game was in the works at Rare that was only greenlit in early 2022. Now, it seems this rumor spread by NateTheHate has been debunked by a fellow reputable insider.

Reputable Xbox insider and journalist, Jez Corden, discussed on the Xbox Two podcast that Nate Drake’s claim of a new Banjo game is entirely wrong.

“It’s not. I can tell you right now, categorically, there is no Banjo game as of this podcast.”

Officially, Microsoft has shared no news on the Banjo-Kazooie IP’s future. It’s been over two decades since the duo had a mainline adventure back in 2000. Naturally, we’re sure Rare is too busy continuing to support Sea of Thieves, and frankly, we kind of suspected this rumor was bogus, even if it would be nice to see the return of this iconic platformer.
