A new decision from Activision may divide fans of the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
According to a statement on X from CharlieIntel, it’s spoken to Activision, and the studio revealed that the campaign for the new Call of Duty game will not feature early access. This technically isn’t news, as Black Ops 6 never had any early access teased or mentioned, but it’s an interesting decision regardless, as players were quite happy with it last year.
Activision released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s campaign early for people who pre-ordered the game digitally, giving many players a chance to try out the game’s campaign. With the competitive nature of the multiplayer, and in turn Warzone, players generally jump straight into the multiplayer so they don’t fall behind others that normally skip the campaign.
Many were thrilled when they were able to access the campaign for Modern Warfare 3 early before the multiplayer was even released. Black Ops 6 will also offer a return to the classic Zombies with a round-based map, something many players have been demanding. This exciting return is another reason some players may skip the campaign this time.
While we don’t know why Activision dropped the early access plan, October 25 is coming quickly, and everyone will be able to dive into the campaign or multiplayer, which, based on the beta, looks to be a new experience this time around.
