New content confirmed for Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Zero Super Limit Breaking Neo

Bandai Namco is taking a step further with updating Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Zero with a massive expansion called Super Limit Breaking Neo. It won’t just welcome new characters and stages as the previous season passes, but also introduce new ways to play the game.

The largest addition is a new mode brought from King Zeno himself, which plays similarly to the Dragon Adventure in Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 2. The new single-player mode lets players explore a map with different selections of battles and events. Characters can earn rewarding experience points from completing objectives to level up and customize certain stats, such as the growth of ki aura.

The new Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero version also expands the overly abundant in-game content with new characters, customization, and stages. Familiar arenas return from previous Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi games, like Stratosphere Planet Vegeta, Kami Tower, and Kame House, while others are brand new to the series, like Stratosphere Earth and Bitter Tundra. The additional selection of upcoming fighters raises representation from throughout the Dragon Ball series, especially OG Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT. It doesn’t just bring back familiar characters in the latest Dragon Ball Sparking entry, but also introduces new fighters, such as the Mighty Mask, Young Uub, Super Saiyan Bardock, and Cheelai. This new update is designed to make the game’s expansive roster much larger for fun matchups and customization, including new costumes for the base roster.

The gameplay is also receiving a refreshing tune-up with multiple new system mechanics centralizing special moves. Chain Blast is a new feature that lets partnered characters connect a special move during an active role switch, raising team synergy for more possible team combinations. Every character can also boost their ultimate special moves with the new Sparking! Boost, which gives an option for more damage.

Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Zero Super Limit Breaking Neo is scheduled to launch as paid content in summer 2026. On the same date, the new battle system mechanics will launch separately as a free update for every gaming platform. Bandai Namco will provide more details relating to their official launch date and price later.
