Star Fox is one of the upcoming exclusives for the Nintendo Switch 2. The company working on the revived Nintendo franchise is Velan Studios, developers with previous experience making action and AR racing games.
Star Fox is the second Nintendo IP project produced by Velan Studios, following Mario Kart LIVE Home Circuit. The studio responded to the announcement of Star Fox, showing their commitment to bring the on-rails shooter series back with new visuals and 60 fps performance for the modern Nintendo console with its in-house game engine, VIPER.
The original Star Fox developers even made a response, expressing such excitement to see the return of Fox McCloud and his team on Nintendo Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive is preparing for its launch on June 25, 2026, with a free demo currently available.
