Tomb Raider brought multiple surprises during The Game Awards 2025. Crystal Dynamics is partnering with Flying Wild Hog and Amazon Game Studios to bring two modern Tomb Raider games in the upcoming years.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is one of the dual announcements that reimagines the original 1996 Tomb Raider classic in Unreal Engine 5. The developers have confirmed that the remake’s new changes go beyond its visuals and graphics, refreshing the gameplay experience for both veterans and newcomers to enjoy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The new surprises will be revealed closer to its 2026 release window, which will benefit the modern reimagining of Lara Croft’s first adventure.
The last Tomb Raider announcement during the show is Tomb Raider: Catalyst, the next entry for the franchise. Lara Croft returns to the treasure-hunting business with new equipment, like the grappling hook. Her preceding legendary title will welcome new enemies and challenges once her latest adventure launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in 2027.
