Nintendo announces a new achievement system for a limited time

Nintendo recently announced a new time-limited event that incorporates the Donkey Kong franchise: DK Challenge. It’s an exclusive event that encourages players to complete diverse challenges in classic Donkey Kong games in Nintendo Classics, such as Donkey Kong Country.

The trailer also reveals new extra challenges for the latest entry, Donkey Kong Bananza. Completing each challenge will reward a digital collectible card, similar to the Super Mario Galaxy Movie card collection in Nintendo Today.

It’s confirmed that the DK Challenge is only active for Nintendo Switch 2 players with the Nintendo Switch Online standard subscription. This achievement-like event is currently active until September 1, 2026. Hopefully, more franchises can receive similar attention for Nintendo’s future support.
