Nintendo confirms Mario and Princess Peach are just “good friends”

Nintendo has confirmed there is nothing romantic going on between Mario and Princess Peach. They’re just good friends that help each other when they can.

On the Nintendo Today app, it was confirmed, though, as many point out, this reads so much like something we’re sure is totally unintentional on Nintendo’s part. It also flies in the face of the times Mario will get a peck on the cheek for saving Peach.

“Princess Peach and Mario are good friends and help each other out whenever they can.”

Now, it does seem at least more recent Mario outings, Nintendo has made Princess Peach more capable and independent compared to old iterations. From having her own game to rejecting Mario’s more hamfisted attempt at seeking a relationship with her in Odyssey.
