Nippon Ichi Software finally confirmed the official release for Disgaea Mayhem, a Disgaea spin-off. The action-packed demonic game is confirmed to launch on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam in summer 2026.
Disgaea Mayhem revolves around N.A., a freelance mercenary, who accepts a request from Tichelle, the Overlord of the Super Duper Netherworld. After losing her Pristine Gleam Flan, the mercenary has to confront six demonic vassals throughout the Netherworld to reclaim her important delicacy.
This spin-off is designed differently from previous Disgaea games with its new combat system. While it’s still an RPG, it refreshes the experience with its action-based gameplay and class system, encouraging combo variety. The mercenary can level up and wield one of seven weapon types with different excelling traits and abilities to annihilate waves of enemies.
Dedicated Disgaea fans can still find familiar mechanics in the new spin-off. The mercenary can strengthen his stats and utility by calling an assembly, preparing reincarnation, and recruiting monsters to bond. Magichange is also available for him to enhance his weapons for more wacky, chaotic special moves, especially with Prinnies.
Disgaea Mayhem will release with multiple special editions on July 23, 2026. Its physical versions are currently available to preorder on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, while its digital release can be wishlisted through Steam.
