Nintendo Switch 2 already faces new global price hikes

Nintendo previously revealed the debut performance of Nintendo Switch 2 within its financial reports for the fiscal year 2026. Despite its latest hardware sales, the declining market and economic pressure have forced the company to raise its hardware prices.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will face regional price increases that will occur in Japan on May 25, 2026, which will affect the Nintendo Switch hardware. Areas outside of Japan will only face new prices for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware on September 1, 2026.

Nintendo is also raising the prices for the Nintendo Switch Online within Japan. The higher costs will affect the standard and Expansion Pack services on July 1, 2026, at midnight. Any automatic payment plan due after July 1, 2026, will follow the new price change, raising the required cost. Nintendo expressed its apology about the new price changes as the company continues to keep the community updated.
