Nintendo’s Close To You video reveals it’s Pikmin themed

Nintendo previously released a video about a mother and baby spending family time called “Close To You.” There were minimal clues about what it was about until the company re-released the same video with an extra small detail.

The new short iteration included the presence of Pikmin. This supports the lore of Pikmin being invisible to human eyes, which explains why the original video excluded the small creatures and made the toys appear sentient. The new video surprisingly includes no harm to the mini beings.

There’s no confirmation if the short relates to an upcoming Pikmin game, merchandise, or movie. The franchise is known for creating amusing mini-stories with its previous shorts, welcoming curious fans to the Pikmin world while expanding the lore. The new video is the first to show Pikmin directly interacting with human beings, so it may develop the series gameplay-wise for future entries.
