OFF developer Mortis Ghost is working on a brand-new game with completely different characters. Before you ask, yes, it’s an RPG.
During an exclusive interview with Smash Jump, Martin Georis, better known as Mortis Ghost, revealed that he’s working on a new game, but didn’t go too much deeper into what it would be about or anything. He did share that it would be similar in that it’s Japanese-inspired, would be an RPG, and, of course, would have “convoluted storyline.”
“I’m currently working on a new game, set in a different universe and with different characters. I won’t say too much, as we have a lot of work left, but it’s once again a Japanese-inspired RPG with a convoluted storyline.”
OFF originally launched in 2008 under Unproductive Fun Time, which consisted of Mortis Ghost and composer Alias Conrad Coldwood. The game would grow and has been a source of inspiration — primarily the character designs — for Undertale, which we don’t think needs much introduction.
Smash Jump’s Robert Andalon reviewed the recently released remaster, saying: “There is a lot to love here, but the critiques I have most are the mind-numbing memory recollection puzzles that took me out of the experience and the lack of a memorable party. Still, this is a adequate adventure that is full of moments of laughter, disturbance that is one of kind.”
Stay tuned for the full interview.
