Previously PC only ghost hunting game Phasmophobia has been announced to be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PSVR 2 in early access this October. This release will also be accompanied by a price increase to $19.99.
Announced by developer Kinetic Games on the Phasmophobia news Steam page on July 12, the console version is set to release in early access this October, although no specific date was mentioned. Instead, the post mentions how the release will coincide with Phasmophobia’s Halloween event. This announcement comes after many previous delays of the original console release.
“With last year’s estimated release date ultimately being delayed, we shared the frustration with console players and had to make sure that when we announced a new release date, it was one that we could meet.”
The post mentions many other details about the console launch, such as it’s price, which Kinetic states will be increasing to $19.99 across all platforms. It mentions how it feels the price increase is fair due to the amount of content currently in the game.
Other important information to note is the fact that everyone, including those playing with VR, will be able to utilize cross-play to play with other players at launch. Furthermore, Kinetic plans on maintaining that cross-play by keeping the console release up to date with the PC version.
The post also mentions that Kinetic does not currently have plans to add Phasmophobia to Xbox Game Pass.
We hope that players eagerly awaiting Phasmophobia’s console release look forward to this October when the game launches in early access on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PSVR 2!
