Pokémon Fossil Museum arriving soon in Chicago

Fans and trainers later this month are invited to the Windy City for a special Pokémon-themed event… and if you can’t go right away, you may have plenty of time to plan your trip.

While the Pokémon Fossil Museum was originally established in Japan, the special exhibition will arrive soon in Chicago, IL for its first debut outside of Pokémon’s home country. From Friday May 22 all the way to Sunday April 11, 2027, the Pokemon Fossil Museum will be hosted at the first floor of the Field Museum in downtown Chicago (via the official Pokémon website). That’s over 300 days to visit the museum exhibit.

In a nutshell, the Pokémon Fossil Museum invites fans in drawing comparisons between real life fossils (such as the Field Museum’s world-famous SUE the T. Rex) with fossils of Pokémon like Tyrantrum and Archeops. For local Pokémon fans in the Chicago area, the exhibition is also open to school field trips. Tickets available for purchase and other exhibit information are accessible at the Field’s Museum website here.

This museum exhibit isn’t the only Pokémon-themed event coming to Chicago this summer as Pokémon GO Fest returns in June.
