Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown specs revealed

Ubisoft recently surprised us with the reveal of the performance specs for the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown… and the news is great across all platforms. The game targets at least 60fps on all major launch platforms at 720p, 1080p, 2K, and 4K resolutions.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X will be targeting the highest specs among consoles โ€” 4K resolution and 120fps (especially great for those who have a 120hz display and are looking for the smoothest gameplay experience).

What is impressive here is the suggested high degree of optimization across all platforms. The PC specs are not taxing whatsoever, meaning that many players with a variety of configurations can enjoy the game at higher resolutions and framerates.

For consoles, Switch players will be especially happy to see the 60fps being maintained for docked and handheld modes alike, something that the Switch has struggled with in the past for multi-platform releases.

The current-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X will target 4K at 120fps, offering the smoothest console gameplay experience. Nonetheless, the last-gen PS4 and Xbox One will still enjoy a great experience at 1080p and 60fps. There’s no going wrong with any platform here.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the new year. The game launches on January 18 (January 15 for Ubisoft+ subscribers and Deluxe Edition buyers) on PC, PS5, PS4, Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One. Players will be treated to a demo of the game for all consoles, releasing on January 11. The game can now be pre-ordered on the Ubisoft Store.

Smash Jump is looking forward to this re-interpretation of the series and is curious about whether this will lead to new, more frequent installments. We think it’s high time the Prince makes a comeback after more than a decade absence.

The PC specs, as published by Ubisoft, are the following:

Meanwhile, the console specs are the following:
