The classic 90s Ubisoft platformer is making his return later this year, following PlayStation’s latest State of Play showcase.
Slated for launch on October 1, Rayman Legends Retold has been officially unveiled at the June 2026 State of Play. It is an upcoming remake of the 2D platformer Rayman Legends released back in 2013.
Embark on a bold reimagining of the critically acclaimed platformer, enhanced with stunning 3D visuals and an immersive new story leading to a mysterious new realm. Play the adventure solo or in up to four‑player couch co‑op, jam through all‑new musical stages, saddle up for epic dragon rides, and more!
As previously mentioned, Rayman has been a long-running platformer, debuting back in September 1995 for system including the original Sony PlayStation, Atari Jaguar, and Sega Saturn. The franchise would spawn a whole library of sequels and spin-offs over the past three decades. In fact, Rayman’s popularity has also been highlighted in the Astro Bot Christmas DLC level Winter Wonder back in 2024, the titular hero having a cameo as a VIP Bot. Furthermore, recent rumors ahead of the game’s reveal suggested that Rayman Legends Retold could also include costumes inspired by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and, at least for PS5 owners, Astro Bot (via Push Square). On a slightly different note, the February 2026 State of Play celebrated the franchise’s new milestone by showcasing Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition.
Recently, Ubisoft invited Smash Jump to cover Rayman Legends Retold and our Hands-On Preview is already live. Feel free to watch the Preview’s companion video on the official Smash Jump YouTube channel below:
