Recent Starfield reviews fall to “Mostly Negative”

After a month on the Mixed side of reviews, it seems new Starfield players aren’t happy with Bethesda’s latest offering, tipping the scale to Mostly Negative on Steam. What’s unfortunate is this is Xbox’s biggest release of the year, while Tango Gameworks’ — a subsidiary of Bethesda — stealth hit, Hi-Fi Rush, proves as the only successful release post-acquisition.

Hopping over to its Steam page right now, and yeah, it’s polled as a game with that dreaded red lettering from over 7,000 reviews. Many simply don’t like the direction of the game as it doesn’t feel it pushes any boundaries — feeling like a Bethesda game without the immense fun that it can offer.

Something that didn’t help Bethesda’s case was going on to reply to negative reviews, telling people that they needed to complete the main story, go off on side quests, and/or play the game multiple times to truly have fun. We’re not experts here, but that sounds like weird advice to give players who aren’t satisfied with your product.
