Resident Evil 7 fails to capture mobile audience

Less than 2,000 people bought Resident Evil 7 on iOS, at least that’s what’s claimed. As anticipated, this likely goes hand-in-hand with the poor performance the console-to-mobile conversion face.

Based on a report from Mobile Gamer, the latest iOS release of the long-running franchise severely underperformed expectations. Of course, it’s a niche market as the games are only playable on iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, as well as high-end M1-chipped iPads. Tack on the download time of around six hours for 10Mbps, the 25GB of space needed, and the fact it lists you need double the application size to download, and you have quite an unappealing process.

It might not help that while Resident Evil games can re-release and be successful, Resi 7 has been available on more consoles and PC since 2017. This mobile version launched earlier this month at an unsatisfactory state.
