Sega surprise drops the new Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch 2

Sega has finally announced Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition, the first open-world Sonic game. This version makes island exploration more enjoyable with better graphics, enhanced performance, and new additions for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition provides the ultimate experience of Sonic’s adventure on Starfall Islands with every content update and bonuses previously released, including The Final Horizon expansion. Along with the implemented updates is the new digital art book and mini soundtrack, letting players learn about the game’s designs with its immersive music.

It’s currently available as a physical Game Key Card or digital release. It doesn’t have a Nintendo Switch upgrade pack or special discount for those who own the Nintendo Switch version, forcing players to buy another full-priced release. What else Sega has planned for Sonic’s 35th anniversary will be revealed soon.
