It’s been over two decades since Crazy Taxi was last seen on a home console with Crazy Taxi 3 High Roller. The series is still active with multiple ports and spin-offs on mobile hardware, though it wasn’t pushing the franchise. Not even the developers were being active on social media, staying silent for about 7 years until a recent post on Twitter.
The video was a mini tease of a taxi sign flickering its power until its light turned on, implying news for a new Crazy Taxi title. There still isn’t a lot to know about the upcoming project, including whether it’s a full game or live service.
According to the release schedule in Sega’s latest financial report, the release and details of the Crazy Taxi project are still To Be Determined. Since games as a service showed disappointing performance for Sega, there’s a larger chance for Crazy Taxi to receive a new, fully fledged entry. The developers may finally reveal more news for the series in the upcoming weeks.
