Shin Megami Tensei 5 is set to be delisted

Shin Megami Tensei 5 is poised to get delisted ahead of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance. June 13 is your last chance.

Publisher Atlus revealed on Twitter that come June 13, the game will be delisted and the only version available will be Vengeance, which is an improved — yet story-wise altered — version of the game. If you already own the digital or physical edition of the old version, you’ll still be able to play it beyond the cutoff date to purchase the original, and yes, you can also redownload it if needed.

The original Shin Megami Tensei V Digital Standard, Digital Deluxe, and all associated DLC will be delisted from the Nintendo eShop on June 13.

Previously purchased physical and digital versions will remain playable and re-downloadable after this date.

— Official ATLUS West (@Atlus_West) May 13, 2024

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is the revamped version of the original 2021 JRPG featuring improved graphics, quality-of-life alterations, over 40 new demons, and differing story beats across one of its two stories. The game itself is long, with Atlus estimating each story will take players around 80 hours.

Of course, technically there is no reason to not have both versions up other than Atlus likely believing it would cut into the sales of Vengeance, but as it stands the Japanese publisher never gave a reason behind its delisting.
