Skate enters Early Access next year

Next year marks Skate’s entry into Early Access. The game will continue the course for console playtests this fall.

On Twitter, the official Skate account revealed plans alongside assuring fans more details will come in following months. If you wanna be part of the upcoming playtests, you’ll need to sign up for EA’s Skate Insider.

Some people may have forgotten about the Skate IP, but it has its roots in the mid-to-late-2000s. The last game in the series was 2010’s Skate 3, so naturally people have been starved of the EA skating simulator made to compete with Activision’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.

This new entry will be a free-to-play, regularly updated, title with a focus on multiplayer. Developer Full Circle is even rebuilding its “Flick-It” trick system to be more “fun and satisfying.”
