Tekken 8 wins Best Fighter at The Smash Jump Awards

Clawing — or punching — its way to the top, Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Tekken 8 wins Best Fighter. Frankly, this was among the easiest for the team to decide.

During The Smash Jump Awards, Tekken 8 beat out (or beat up if you wanna keep to the “fighter” edge) Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, UNDER NIGHT IN-BIRTH II Sys:Celes, Rivals of Aether 2, and Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO.

In our review, we said: “Tekken 8 is a continuation of one of the most beloved fighting game series ever made and one that embraces modern technology to ensure its worldwide player base can enjoy its exhilarating gameplay to the fullest. While the gameโ€™s netcode isnโ€™t as rock solid as recent titles like Street Fighter 6 and Guilty Gear Strive, it is a vast improvement to its predecessor and more than good enough most of the time.”
