Terminally ill fan may have played Grand Theft Auto VI

To say Grand Theft Auto VI is anticipated would be an understatement, and unfortunately, some fans may not see the game’s release. In steps Ubisoft Toronto developer Anthony Armstrong, giving a heartfelt request on behalf of his terminally ill family member.

The ill family member happens to be a huge GTA fan, but with recent developments, they’d been given six to 12 months to live, meaning they’re unlikely to see the release of the game. Things seemingly have gone well, with the final update before it was deleted being that they spoke with Rockstar and got “great news,” but couldn’t say anything more.

This sort of thing isn’t uncommon, though, studios tend to handle things differently from one another. Rockstar previously allowed a terminally ill fan access to Red Redemption 2 back in 2018 while studios like Bethesda like to memorialize fans who couldn’t see the release of its games.
