The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is in dire need of a new patch as the game starts to run into major hiccups after extended play time. No platform is safe from this potentially game breaking bug.
Digital Foundry exposed some huge performance problems that Virtuos and Bethesda have yet to fix. The problems boil down to open world performance chugging to the point loading a save too many times can lead to the game crashing. Moreover, a more minor issue is the camera being a little out of place.
“No platform is spared of issues: whether it’s PS5, PS5 Pro, or either Xbox Series machine, all struggle with traversal hitches while roaming the open world. Secondly, there’s major sub-60fps frame-rates, where I’ve also discovered that performance slowly degrades with more playing time – quite possibly down to a memory leak. And finally, software freezes are the icing on the cake, with all PlayStation and Xbox platforms crashing to the system menu on loading a save one too many times.”
Obviously, these bugs are really huge oversights and we certainly hope this is fixed before it leads to the game having too much of a tarnished reputation. Granted, we highly doubt it could end up that way, considering it’s still a hit, leaving its mark as the third best-selling game of the year so far.
