The first console fighting game for Avatar The Last Airbender

Gameplay Group International has recently announced Avatar Legends The Fighting Game. It’s an official Avatar: The Last Airbender fighting game with 2D hand-drawn animations that pays respect to the series’ expressive style.

The announcement trailer has revealed playable characters like Aang and Korra, confirming representation from both major Avatar stories. It’s also confirmed that the game will launch with an original single-player story campaign, gallery mode, online battles with crossplay, and a roster of 12 characters with room for more through season passes.

Combat is designed to be one v one with support characters who give certain effects for the active teammate, including unlocked special moves for their partnered fighter. The Flow system is an implemented gameplay mechanic that influences movement on the battlefield.

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is targeting a release in summer 2026 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. It will also release on the Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date.
