After a decade of support for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, Bandai Namco finally revealed its successor. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 will feature a brand-new narrative implemented with RPG and character-creation mechanics in the Dragon Ball universe. It’s currently scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in 2027.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse is a franchise that allows players to engage with significant events in the Dragon Ball timeline with original characters. It has brought a wide range of character customizations and designs, allowing players to create the ideal fighters across different races, including Majins, Namekians, and Frieza races. With how much the Dragon Ball anime has developed, there’ll be more opportunities for players to engage in canonical events for the upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, especially in Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Daima.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 was previously named Project Age 1000 due to its setting taking place in Age 1000 within a newly designed West City. The trailer gave a wider glimpse of the enormous setting, inhabitants, and OST. It also revealed the new leading duo who will work in the new Great Saiyan Squad. The white-haired character was already seen in the previous trailer, but in this trailer we were presented with a new perspective relating to how he got into the Great Saiyan Squad enrollment.
The previous Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 trailer focused on the standard, silent character who participated in a simulated battle. During combat, he transformed into a Super Saiyan, which confirms power-up transformations for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. It also revealed some Dragon Ball characters between different arcs from the early Saiyan Saga up to the Super Broly saga, implying the available time periods for the time patrollers to supervise and intervene. The developers will publish more details for the most anticipated Dragon Ball Xenoverse successor later in the future.
