Ubisoft recently released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the remake of one of the most beloved entries in the entire franchise. Alongside the $59.99 price tag, it also introduced some cosmetic DLC packs that have faced some controversy around the pricing.
In total, all the DLC packs, which are cosmetics and give no gameplay advantage or extra story, cost around $97 USD. One negative review that points this high price out, though, has coaxed out a response from Ubisoft, which notes that the standard edition is the “full, complete experience.” That is to say that it comes bundled with all the missions, islands, and everything that you could experience in the game and that the DLC packs are totally optional and are there for the people who want them, but others don’t have an obligation to get them to enjoy the game.
“We’ve seen your feedback since launch, and we’re reading all of it. Thank you for caring this much about Black Flag Resynced. We want to be clear on one point: the standard edition is the full, complete experience. Every mission, every island, the full story and the complete world are all there, with nothing held back. The additional packs are entirely optional extras for players who want them, never a requirement to enjoy or complete the game.”
