UK man jailed for 6-inch Master Sword replica

A UK man was arrested and sentenced to four months in jail after getting caught with a six-inch Master Sword replica. He asserted that it was purchased as a fidget toy.

According to VGC, 48-year-old Anthony Bray was arrested and jailed. Of course, it appears this is far from his first run in with the law, with a couple of burglary charges on his record. The replica Master Sword boasts a six-inch blade, which can be unsheathed with just a press of a button.

Bray alleged the replica weapon from the Legend of Zelda franchise was a mere fidget toy and that he’d never use it as a weapon. This fell on deaf ears as it still contains a blade beyond the three-inch exception when it comes to weaponry. He did admit that the item could be seen as threatening but kept his belief.

Beyond the four months behind bars, Bray is also required to pay a £154 (or $196.21) victims surcharge. Speaking on the matter, Sgt Spellman of Warwickshire Police’s Patrol Investigations Unit mentioned that you can find non-threatening fidget toys.

“It is possible to find fidget toys that aren’t six-inch blades. It is possible not to walk down the street holding them out in front of you. With a bit more self-awareness, Bray could have avoided contact with us completely.”
