Nintendo is finally revealing more content of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond through its overview trailer. It gives a decent peek at Samusโ new adventure thatโs currently launching on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2025. The gameโs Nintendo Switch versions are designed for its respective Nintendo console, along with the available Metroid Prime 4 upgrade pack for Nintendo Switch 2.
The trailer begins with Samus being mysteriously forced onto planet Viewros. She has to find a way off the planet by exploring different zones with various temperatures and terrain, like a lush jungle and a stormy factory. Samus can discover different zones by riding through Sol Valley on her Vi-O-La. The desert holds some resources like crystals for Samus to utilize in her journey, though different enemies roam freely with hostile aggression.
The planet isn’t just filled with hostiles, but allies as well. Samus can rescue her Galactic Federation comrades to get new information or assistance for her objectives. They can even give upgrades to enhance Samus’ artillery.
The galactic bounty hunter isn’t without her tools, like Scan Visor, Missile Launcher, Morph Ball, and Power Beam. She can even call her Vi-O-La during zone exploration to freely move in applicable areas, though its speed is limited to avoid accidents. Her newest arsenal is psychic abilities, providing enhanced superhuman skills like controlling her beam attacks and manipulating energy.
The game offers various settings to enhance the bounty-hunting experience. Players can experience the gameโs improved imagery with its quality mode’s 4K resolution and 60 FPS. Players who prefer better stability during gameplay can choose the in-game performance mode’s 1080p resolution and 120 FPS. It’s even possible for Jon-Con 2 controllers to switch between button inputs and mouse controls for more effective accuracy.
