Five Nights At Freddy’s sequel film to be “bigger” and “scarier”

Five Night At Freddy’s star Josh Hutcherson is indicating that the sequel to the film adaptation will be “bigger” and “scarier.” The film is set to release in fall 2025.

In an interview with Esquire, Hutcherson, who’s on a three-month shoot in New Orleans, spilled the beans that the film will hopefully be better than its precursor, which while a financial success, failed to capture positive reception critically, though, it did foster a pretty good response from the audience.

With the new one, not only are new animatronics being introduced, but also building and expanding the world itself and keeping the characters “grounded.”

“There’s more animatronics being brought in, different animatronics being brought in, and the world just opens up in a big way,” he continued. “We’re finding the balance right now of building this world and expanding it in a really cool way but also making sure the characters stay really grounded.”

In the interview, he noted it would be scarier, too.

“It’s so over-the-top and wacky, in a way, that to find the emotional truth of the characters was gonna be what was gonna work,” he said. “I think the fans are gonna flip for it. It’s gonna be a lot of fun with the source. It’s gonna be scarier, too, actually.”

In terms of games, Megacat Studios brought to life Five Nights At Freddy’s: Into the Pit back in August.
