James Gunn has been on the role lately in regards to superhero content as the director has been focused on projects within the DC Universe. Currently, Gunn is working on his version of Superman and fans can watch the new trailer that was just released.
IGN has reported that Warner Bros just released Gunn’s first Superman teaser trailer full of recognizable characters combined with some promising visuals. DC has uploaded the trailer on their official YouTube channel.
Viewers not only get a glimpse of David Corenswet’s Superman, but other characters appearing in the trailer includes the titular hero’s love interest Lois Lane played by Rachel Brosnahan and arch nemesis Lex Luthor who’s portrayed by Nicholas Hoult.
Even more exciting are DC Comics’ other familiar superheroes set to appear in the film including Hawkgirl played by Isabela Merced and Guy Gardner (Green Lantern) played by Nathan Fillion. Not only that, but Michael Holt (Mister Terrific) played by Edi Gathegi and Rex Mason (Metamorpho) played by Anthony Carrigan will also be featured in the upcoming film.
There’s even a kaiju-sized fire-breathing dragon and a giant sphere-shaped tentacle monster floating in the night sky shooting a laser beam, and both will most likely pose a threat as they wreak havoc in the city of Metropolis.
Krypto the Dog also makes an appearance in the trailer, looking as adorable as ever as he desperately saves a beaten-up Superman lying defeated on the ground of a snowy terrain.
Following the recently released animated series Creature Commandos, Superman will be the first film taking place in Gunn’s new DC universe franchise titled Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.
Previously, the Guardians of the Galaxy director has also directed the Peacemaker television series as well as the more preferable version to Snyder’s Suicide Squad with the same title.
