Legend of the White Dragon theatrical release date announced

Long-time Power Rangers fans who’ve been waiting for the day when they can finally watch a particular fan film now have a date to mark on the calendar.

Officially announced by Bat In The Sun and reported by ComicBook, the long-awaited Power Rangers-inspired fan film: Legend of the White Dragon, finally has a theatrical release date set for August 28, 2026. The film’s production company will be sharing more info at a later time.

Starring several actors of Power Rangers fame including the deceased Jason David Frank, Legend of the White Dragon will be the first Power Rangers-related movie to hit the big screen since Saban’s Power Rangers released almost 10 years ago in March 2017.

Legend of the White Dragon’s official website has the following synopsis of the story:

Follow the journey of Erik Reed, (The White Dragon) – who, after losing an epic battle with the ancient overlord, Ashtagor, is blamed for the decimation of the city and the tragic loss of innocent lives during the conflict.

Legend of the White Dragon has been in the works for several years. In fact, the movie was going to be released earlier on, with one of the release dates being back in 2024 (via Looper). Legend of the White Dragon’s debut will mark a posthumous appearance for Jason David Frank after he tragically took his own life in November 2022 (reported by Deadline).
