Moana 2 already has record-breaking advance ticket sales

Following press getting a 30-minute first look at Moana 2, it’s been uncovered that advance ticket sales are strong for this sea faring adventure. The flick hits theaters over Thanksgiving.

Hollywood Reporter states that the film has sold more tickets than any animated film this year, even this year’s Pixar powerhouse, Inside Out 2, which made big waves in theaters and Disney Plus. It seems while Disney hit a rough patch over the last few years, it’s starting to get its groove back, though, whether or not the film will be able to top Rotten Tomatoes like Pixar’s flick remains to be seen.

Directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller, the flick brings back Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson to the starring roles as Moana takes to long-lost waters after her ancestors beckon her.

Competition can be seen as steep, though, we doubt there’s much overlap between Gladiator 2 and Wicked fans to Disney’s latest pseudo-princess fare.

Moana 2 releases in theaters on November 27.
