Pre-school focused Doctor Who spin-off is in the works

BBC is working on an animated Doctor Who spin-off set to release on its CBeebies program. Oddly, though, Disney is not involved in this project.

In a press release (via IGN), the plans were shared, but it’s clear that the show is still in the planning phases, as BBC is currently seeking a “passionate production company” to produce the animated series. It’s weird that Disney hasn’t stepped in to offer help, considering Disney has co-financed the most reason seasons of the show, as well as a different spin-off, The War Between the Land and Sea. You may even remember there was Lux, an episode of the most reason season that transformed The Doctor into a cartoon.

Regardless, the series is in the works, and if you’re a Whovian who just so happens to have a kid, this might be something worth checking out.
