Bandai Namco has confirmed the new launch of the Elden Ring Movie in 2028. The developers will partner up with A24 Studio to bring the dark fantasy action RPG to the big screens on March 3, 2028.
The new film is confirmed to be written and produced by Alex Garland, an experienced author and filmmaker. He created several films, like Ex Machina and the Resident Evil-inspired film, 28 Days Later. He also contributed to video games directly, co-writing Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and supervising the story for DmC: Devil May Cry. The Elden Ring Movie will become his latest work once it starts production in Spring 2026, with the cast revealed:
- Kit Connor (Warfare, Heartstopper)
- Ben Whishaw (Skyfall, Paddington)
- Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus, Civil War)
- Tom Burke (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Black Bag)
- Havana Rose Liu (Bottoms)
- Sonoya Mizuno (Ex Machina)
- Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes)
- Ruby Cruz (Willow, Bottoms)
- Nick Offerman (The Last of Us)
- John Hodgkinson (Skyfall)
- Jefferson Hall (Oppenheimer, Halloween)
- Emma Laird (28 Years Later)
- Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I–The Phantom Menace, Guardians of the Galaxy)
Elden Ring will continue to evolve with Bandai Namco’s support, like the upcoming Tarnished Edition update. It will debut for the Nintendo Switch 2 before distributing the latest content for other gaming platforms through a paid update. The developers will update about its official launch for its physical and digital formats later in 2026.
