Silent Hill 2 director approves of playable camera in remake

Silent Hill 2 director, Masashi Tsuboyama, has aired his thoughts on the playable camera in Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake. In the end, he wasn’t satisfied with the original’s camera.

On Twitter, the director discussed the remake, stating that he wasn’t satisified with the camera from the old Silent Hill 2 and moving onto saying the over-the-shoulder view adds more realism and thus makes it more immersive.

๐ŸŸฅTo be honest, I'm not satisfied with the playable camera from 23 years ago.

Depth and angle were limited by the processing load. It was a continuous process of hard work that was not rewarded. But that was the limit.#SilentHill2

He also held a very measured attitude toward the whole remake debate, falling into the camp of it not affecting the 2001 horror romp.

This comes after Wikipedia was forced to 86 the remake’s page after a no doubt small but vocal community began meddling with positive review scores, clearly unhappy that the game’s gaining so much praise.
