Gearbox has confirmed Borderlands 4 will be priced at $70. This follows CEO Randy Pitchford’s extremely controversial “real fans” comment.
Confirming on social media, BL4 will have three editions, with its standard edition’s price being slapped with a $69.99 price tag. As people may remember, last month, Pitchford asserted “real fans” will find a way to afford the possibility of the new Borderlands at $80 prior to confirming its price, as he didn’t know what it would be, as it’s up to the publisher to determine the price. After backlash, though, he apologized for the comments.
This announcement introduced more to the future of the game, as well, with free and paid content coming after launch. You also can buy the $100 Deluxe Edition, which comes with extra content that will come at a later date as well as cosmetics. You can also get the $130 Super Deluxe Edition, which comes with more items and another one of the DLC that will come at a later date.
Borderlands 4 releases to current-gen consoles on September 12, with a Switch 2 version releasing later down the line.
