Straight off the heels of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s The Order of the Giants, MachineGames co-founder Jerk Gustafsson has confirmed the team views its work on Wolfenstein as a yet-to-be-completed trilogy.
During a new Noclip documentary (via VGC), Gustafsson asserted that MachineGames always viewed Wolfenstein’s modern games as a trilogy, meaning it will eventually develop a new entry.
โI think this is important to say, because we have always seen this as a trilogy. So that journey for BJ โ even during those first weeks at id [Software], when we mapped out New Order โ we still had the plan for at least that character. What will happen in the second one, what will happen in the third one.
I think thatโs important to say because, at least I hope, that weโre not done with Wolfenstein yet. We have a story to tell.โ
It’s been a while since the last Wolfenstein game, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, which was co-developed by MachineGames and Arkane Lyon back in 2019. Now, obviously, that was a spin-off and doesn’t align with the proper third entry. As of late, though, it seems tangled up with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at this moment.
