Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game revealed the in-game controls during the first character showcase with the standard four-button control scheme. It plays similarly to Dragon Ball FighterZ with special moves performed using both quarter-circle motions and quick inputs.
Aang is the first character revealed as an agile airbender who uses his staff for disjointed attacks and midair gliding. His airbending doesn’t just give him an agility advantage, but weakens his opponentโs movement. He can activate a passive gust of wind to forcibly reposition his opponent in the strong breezeโs direction.
The game also allows fighters to play with supports, which provide unique enhancements for a fighterโs playstyle, like variants in Mortal Kombat X. Each fighter will have three unique supports that improve a fighterโs move or unlock more pressure options like Korraโs Naga and Zukoโs Mai.
Aangโs movement capabilities are further enhanced with his three supports: Momo, Appa, and Gyatso. Momo helps Aang glide faster in the air, along with an improved cancel window for aerial attacks. Gyatso lets Aang have more fun with his air scooter, unlocking its ability to pass through opponents for cross-up attacks. Appa encourages Aang to flow with his momentum, letting him cancel any normal attack into flow techniques for better offensive and defensive pressure. More about the game will be revealed after its closed alpha test on December 5-7, 2025.
