Pokémon GO Fest returns to Chicago in June

Ahead of Pokémon GO’s 10th Anniversary, the game’s in-person festival returns next month to the city where it all started: Chicago, IL.

The Pokémon GO Fest website has all the info for everyone planning to attend, including start/end times and tickets ($33). Just as in past years, Pokémon GO Fest will be held in Chicago’s Grant Park, and will run during the weekend from June 5 to June 7.

Pokémon GO Fest has been around for nearly 10 years, starting in Chicago back in July 2017, around the time of the mobile game’s 1-year anniversary. The festival started expanding to other cities worldwide in 2019, including Yokohama, Japan and Dortmund, Germany. The COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020 and 2021 launched Global events. While more world cities have participated in Pokémon GO Fest in recent years, 2026 will be the first festival with a dedicated Chicago event since 2019 (via Serebii.net).

Additionally, Pokémon GO Fest will not only have a Global event later in the summer, but will also come to the Tokyo Bay from May 25 to June 1, and in Denmark’s capital of Copenhagen from June 11 to June 14 (thanks to Pokémon GO Hub).

A bonus Pokémon-themed event in Chicago that fans/trainers can look forward to is the Pokémon Fossil Museum’s first exhibit outside of Japan, available from Spring 2026 to Spring 2027.
