Riot Games recently introduced a new controversial Fuse in the Season 2 patch for 2XKO. The developers witnessed many submissions relating to the new tool, which created heated discourse about its broken balance in the community. In response, the developers will make some tweaks to quell its rewarding benefits with patch 1.2.3 on June 9, 2026.
The major adjustments will mainly rework Teamfight’s defensive usage, which provided overwhelming strategies with little counterplay. The new changes will raise the risk for the Teamfight users with the increased 12 recovery frames, lessening the chance to activate the fuse and parry during an opponent’s counterattack. They will also disable the users’ option to block and parry an opponent’s Break activation, making the combo break option risk-free. During an active Teamfight fuse, the opponent can greatly diminish its duration by damaging the user with 2.5x more Teamfight duration reduction or parrying during Teamfight, which ends the fuse.
The developers won’t just entirely nerf the new Fuse, but also raise its utility for more offensive situations. The user can spend more super bars for a longer duration when activating the fuse, giving more chances to mix the opponent. The Fuse originally lasted seven seconds when the duo spent a super bar each, but now it will last five, 10, or 15 seconds when spending two, four, or six super bars, respectively.
The developers are aiming to make Teamfight Fuse more balanced by trading more offensive power for fewer defensive options. Even though it was banned in Combobreaker 2026, Evo 2026 has legalized the new Fuse for any competitor to utilize for the full weekend starting June 26, 2026. This should lead to making the Fuse more viable for future tournaments.
