Cyberpunk 2077 sequel looks to introduce multiplayer

If you were following — and let’s face it, a lot of people were — Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of launch, you probably remember when the game promised multiplayer. Of course, it ended up scrapped, but it seems CD Projekt Red is looking at introducing it into the title’s sequel, currently known as Orion.

This comes as a listing surfaces (via IGN) that’s looking for a lead network engineer to “develop and optimize multiplayer systems, including matchmaking.” Moreover, the role is based out of CDPR’s Boston branch, which is the very same studio in charge of the new Cyberpunk.

Now, this shouldn’t be too surprising, as CDPR has said as recently as last year that it was considering adding multiplayer to Orion. The plans were scrapped to add the multiplayer to 2077 after the rocky launch, but with the studio able to now save face, at least to many fans, we’re sure the studio won’t make that same mistake.
