Developers discusses possible new support for Guilty Gear Strive Nintendo Switch Edition

January 2, 2026

Guilty Gear Strive Nintendo Switch 2 Edition already earned its latest update to match the other gaming platforms. The support for Guilty Gear Strive doesn’t stop there due to the announced version 2.0 update. It isn’t just bringing new characters and content, but an overhauled Guilty Gear experience refreshed for the latest entry. With the amount of changes promised for the upcoming update, the developers revealed whether the Nintendo Switch version can receive the updates.

The developers confessed to the tremendous challenges of bringing Guilty Gear Strive to the Nintendo Switch. It’s currently unsure about any support beyond the version 2.0 update launch for the Nintendo Switch version. The hardware complications are forcing the team to research how future support will follow for the Nintendo port. The upcoming 2.0 version update may be delayed for the Nintendo Switch, similar to the latest update with CD Project Red’s collaboration and ranked match implementation. The Nintendo Switch port can receive the upcoming content, but the developers will have to confirm its research on what can fit in the unique port before revealing the finalized plans in the future.
