Hollow Knight: Silksong’s price has yet to be revealed, but it seems GameStop has accidentally leaked the sequel’s price, and if true, fans will be happy.
A since-deleted GameStop page surfaced (via Insider Gaming), which Smash Jump can verify did indeed claim the Switch copy of Silksong would be priced at $19.99. Assuming the game is going to have price parity across its platforms, this means the game is only about $5 more than the original Hollow Knight.
Some users on Reddit pointed out the ingenious pricing here, as really it’s competing with the fact it’s a Game Pass Day 1 release, but with it only priced at $19.99, it’s probably not gonna have trouble recouping costs. This is Silksong, after all.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is actually the reason some indie games have pushed release, notably indie RPG Demonschool and silly walking sim Baby Steps both shifted release dates following the reveal that the highly-anticipated title’s release is right around the corner, but don’t go expecting reviews until after the release date.
Hollow Knight: Silksong releases on current and past-gen consoles on September 4.
