Marvel Rivals is the almost canceled PvP team hero shooter that’s reaching its fourth seasonal update, entitled Heart of the Dragon. The new season doesn’t just expand lore about Dizang’s reveal and Doctor Doom’s conniving motives; it also improves the matchmaking by allowing match queues for more than one mode. Not only can players participate in returning permanent games like Conquest Doom Match, Clone Rumble, and Giant Size Brain Blast, but there are even new modes for both casual and competitive teams. Free Fight mode allows more team diversity by stripping the hero duplicate rule. Any player who likes to compete through KO can rack up the most points in Conquest Annihilation mode.
The story takes place in the Heart of Heaven, a new convergence map where tension arises between the assertive angel and devilish guardian. Angela is a new heroic vanguard who flies into the frontline with her one wing and multiple weapons like spears and axes. She can even switch to defensive tactics with her shield to protect her allies from harm. More of her moveset is revealed in her YouTube showcase.
Along with the implemented Arcade mode hub and growing roster are newly improved options for player accessibility, like customizable chat text, heroic favorites bar, Custom Ultimate Ability VFX toggle, and more. The new season won’t just have new costumes like summer volume 2, but also accessories for certain characters on September 25.
The new Season 4 additions will be available across every eligible platform, including the new PlayStation 4 version. Now it’s much easier for players to team up in Marvel Rivals on September 14 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
