NetEase studio closures won’t affect Quantic Dream

NetEase has been scaling back on its non-Chinese investments as of late, as well as closing down select studios not based out of China. Cinematic game maker, Quantic Dream, is among those that NetEase owns, but isn’t based in its home country.

The French studio’s CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière took to LinkedIn to note that the shift in investments hasn’t resulted in the studio slowing projects down. Poland-based Rebel Wolves co-founder echoed these sentiments, noting that The Blood of the Dawnwalker wasn’t hit with any hurdles, either.

“David Cage and I would like to express our gratitude to the fans and friends who have reached out to us in recent days regarding QUANTIC DREAM. We want to reassure everyone that our studios in Paris and Montreal remain unaffected.”

Though pure speculation, it seems more likely that NetEase is open to working with foreign companies, as both Quantic Dream and Rebel Wolves are headquartered in France and Poland respectively, but is less likely to do within the States.
