In a bid to once again try and help the dire situation Payday 3 is in, Starbreeze Studios has partnered up with Sidetrack Games to handle Payday 2 on PC to allow itself to focus on on the live service title.
Sidetrack Games previously had its hands within Payday 2’s modding community, worked on RAID: World War II, and “know the Payday 2 engine inside and out.” With this move, Starbreeze can lessen its load and not divide its team between the two games, meaning it can fully dedicate itself to bettering Payday 3.
This shift comes months after swiping publishing rights back from Plaion. Meanwhile, also hurting its rep by halting offline modes, which was promised for some time. Now, it’s been labeled as โnot feasible.โ
