In an exclusive interview with Smash Jump, Promenade game director and designer Maxence Plou revealed that Holy Cap Studio remains open to the idea of creating a sequel and DLC to the hit platformer.
Plou told us that although Holy Cap is now working on “patching a few bugs and details on Promenade” for a new update, there are currently no plans for a sequel and DLC. Nonetheless, fans should not be discouraged as Plou is not ruling out the possibility of a sequel or DLC happening in the future given the successful reception of Promenade. Just don’t expect development news to come out anytime soon.
Plou revealed that Promenade will be left “on the side for a moment” as Holy Cap focuses on an “exciting” and “refreshing” new project. This new “prototype,” as Plou described it, is a “very different” and ambitious online multiplayer versus game that bridges the gap between a platforming fighter and sports arena game. Details are sparse at the moment. However, Plou kindly offered to keep us updated on Holy Cap’s progress.
In our review, we called Promenade “a surprise hit of early 2024.” Given this promising start for the young French team, Plou has made us excited to find out more about what’s to come. We wish Holy Cap the best of luck.
