Kevin Miller is a voice actor who appeared in several games, like Carmen Sandiego, Crazy Taxi, and Sly Cooper. He was recently invited to an interview to answer some questions relating to the Sly Cooper franchise, including his favorite game and insights about Sanzaru Games.
Canadian Guy Eh posed a major question to Miller about his knowledge relating to Sanzaru Games’ plans for Sly Cooper 4 Thieves in Time DLC. He confirmed the expanded story was in the works, which would take place in Egypt. The developer was prepared to release the extra content post-game launch, but never got the chance.
“As far as I understand, there was always a plan to have an Egypt level. It became a big game; it’s a large game already, so they felt the best way to save time and space was to make that a DLC.”
Miller was also asked if he knew about the series’ future and any intention to push beyond Sly Cooper 4: Thieves in Time. He confirmed Sanzaru Games had motivation to expand the Cooper Gang development, similar to Sucker Punch after the original Sly Cooper. The major obstacles that hindered their efforts were similar to issues commonly faced within the entertainment industry.
“They always had intentions; I knew that there was this Egypt level; I knew there was definitely an expectation to make a Sly 5 or 6 and beyond; and it just didn’t happen. Again, for all the reasons that things don’t happen in the entertainment industry.”
